The Damen Container Feeder 800 (CFe800) is a container feeder ship design from the Dutch Damen Shipyards Group . The ship type was introduced as the Damen Combi Feeder 800 .

The ships have three cargo holds that are closed with folding hatch covers. The hatches are 28.44 m long and 18.60 m wide. The front half of hatch 1 directly behind the forecastle is 13.20 m wide.
Four 20 ' containers can be loaded one behind the other in the hold . There is space for up to seven containers side by side. In hatch 1, three containers can be loaded in the front area and four containers in the rear area. There is space for three containers on top of each other in hatches 2 and 3.
Up to eight containers can be loaded side by side on deck. Furthermore, there is space in the front area of hatch 2 on deck for three 20 'containers that are loaded across the longitudinal axis of the ship. Further parking spaces are located between hatches 2 and 3, here eight 20 'containers can be loaded next to each other, as well as on deck between hatch 3 and the deckhouse, where another two 20' containers can be loaded one behind the other and eight containers next to each other. The area below deck is taken up by the engine room.
On deck, taking into account the line of sight directly in front of the deckhouse , which is located at the very stern , seven containers can be loaded on top of each other, up to six on hatch 3, five on hatch 2 and three more on hatch 1.
The ships of the series are equipped for the transport of different container sizes. There are fittings for 20 ', 30', 40 'and 45' containers on the tank top and on deck. 48 'and 49' containers can also be loaded on deck. The holds are equipped with adjustable cell frames for 30 ', 40' and 45 'containers. A total of 180 connections are available for refrigerated containers, 120 of them on deck and 30 each in hatches 2 and 3.
The container capacity of the ships is 803 TEU . There is space for 206 in the rooms and 597 on deck. If 40 'containers are loaded, there are spaces for 361 FEU and 81 TEU, of which 97 FEU and 12 TEU in the rooms and 264 and 69 TEU on deck. With 30 'containers there is space for 511 units, of which 135 in the rooms and 376 on deck, with 45' containers there is space for 329 units, of which 97 in the rooms and 232 on deck. 48 'and 49' containers can be loaded in one layer on deck. The capacity for these container sizes is 40 pieces.
In their basic configuration, the ships are designed for a crew of up to 15 people who are accommodated in individual cabins. The crew strength can be increased to 20 people by an additional deck or the establishment of several chambers as double chambers.
Technical specifications
The ships are powered by a nine-cylinder four - stroke diesel engine from the manufacturer Caterpillar ( MaK 9M43 C) with an output of 8400 kW . The motor acts on a controllable pitch propeller via a reduction gear . The ships reach a speed of 18 knots .
The ships are each equipped with a transverse thruster control system in the bow and stern area. The bow thruster has an output of 700 kW, the stern thruster 500 kW. Both systems have a controllable pitch propeller.
Power is supplied by a shaft generator with an apparent power of 2000 kVA and two Caterpillar diesel generators with an apparent power of 530 kVA (432 kW) each. A built-in emergency generator has an apparent power of 124 kVA.
