Damián Ariel Escudero (born April 20, 1987 in Rosario ) is an Argentine football player . He is the son of former soccer player Osvaldo Escudero . He has been under contract with Boca Juniors since 2010 and is currently awarded to the Brazilian first division club EC Vitória .
Career
Escudero began his career in the youth team of CA Vélez Sársfield . In 2005 he was brought into the first team. In his first season he came in third in the Apertura, in the Clausura he even came in only tenth. He also made his debut in the Copa Libertadores . On March 14, 2006 Escudero played until the 88th minute (substituted for Ariel Broggi), he received a yellow card and the midfielder scored two goals in a 4-3 win against the representative from Peru , Universitario de Deportes . In the 2007/08 season, positions ten and five were achieved.
In 2008 he moved to Spain to FC Villarreal , from which he was immediately loaned to Real Valladolid because of exceeding the number of non- EU- Europeans in the squad. With Valladolid the 16th place was reached. From summer 2009/10 he was firmly anchored in the squad at Villarreal.
Internationally, Escudero has not yet played for the senior national team of Argentina . He took part in the 2007 Junior South American Championship in Paraguay , where the Albiceleste finished second behind Brazil . He then played at the 2007 Junior World Cup in Canada . Escudero was used in the group game against Panama . He was substituted off after 19 minutes because of an injury against Pablo Daniel Piatti . The game in Ottawa was won 6-0. Argentina won the title at the end of the tournament.
His cousin Sergio Ariel Escudero is also a soccer player.
