Damian Bryl (born February 10, 1969 in Jarocin , Poland ) is a Polish Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Poznan .

Life

Bryl studied from 1988 at the seminary of Poznan and received on 26 May 1994, the ordination by Jerzy Stroba , the archbishop of Poznan. In 1999 he received his PhD in moral theology from the University of Navarra . Afterwards he was editor-in-chief of several Catholic magazines. In 2001 he became a spiritual director at the Poznan Seminary. From 2006 to 2010 he was professor of theology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan.

Pope Francis appointed Damian Bryl auxiliary bishop in Poznan and titular bishop of Suliana on July 13, 2013 . He was ordained bishop on September 8th of the same year by Stanisław Gądecki , Archbishop of Poznan. Co-consecrators were Celestino Migliore , Apostolic Nuncio in Poland, and Zdzisław Fortuniak , Auxiliary Bishop in Poznan. In the Polish Bishops' Conference Bryl is a member of the family council, the commission for the clergy and the commission for the Catholic education system.
