Damir Vrančić (born October 4, 1985 in Slavonski Brod ) is a Bosnian football player .
Career
society
Right-footer Vrančić came from Eintracht Frankfurt to the junior division of 1. FSV Mainz 05 in 2002 . From 2005 to 2008, the midfielder was part of the Mainz team, but after a protracted ankle injury, he was not part of the Bundesliga for the first time until the 2006/07 season. After gaining a few months of match practice in the 05er regional league team, Vrančić made his Bundesliga debut on the penultimate first round matchday (1-1 at Borussia Mönchengladbach ). In the 2007/08 season he played a bigger role in the team of coach Jürgen Klopp , for whom he scored his first competitive goal in professional football against TuS Koblenz on the first day of the game . He moved to Borussia Dortmund II for the 2008/09 season . On December 6, 2008, he was in the game against Arminia Bielefeld for the first time in the Bundesliga team in the squad, but was not used.
For the 2009/10 season Vrančić went to the then third division club Eintracht Braunschweig , for whom he made his debut in the starting line-up on July 25, 2009 against VfL Osnabrück . With Eintracht he rose as a champion in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2010/11 season . On April 26, 2013 Vrančić scored the Braunschweiger winning goal in the match against FC Ingolstadt 04 on the 31st match day of the second division season 2012/13 and thus sealed the return of Lower Saxony after 28 years in the Bundesliga . In the 2013/14 season he made 14 appearances in the Bundesliga. At the end of the season he was relegated to the second class with Eintracht Braunschweig. After he had come to twelve missions in the 2014/15 season, he was used three more times in the following season. Vrančić's contract with Eintracht Braunschweig ran until 2016.
Before the 2016/17 season he joined Halleschen FC , but canceled the contract for personal reasons before the start of the season. On October 12, 2016, the top division Free Turnerschaft Braunschweig signed Vrančić as a playing assistant coach. With FT he was relegated to the national league. In the 2018/19 season he led the team to the national league championship and back to the major league with 16 goals.
National team
In late May 2007, Vrančić was first invited to the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina . However, he made his debut in 2012 when he came on in a friendly against Ireland in the 46th minute.
