Dan Amaria (Mayahi)

Dan Amaria is a village in the Mayahi municipality in Niger .

The place name comes from the Hausa language and means "son of the bride". The village is located around 16 kilometers north of the city center of Mayahi, the capital of the Mayahi department of the same name in the Maradi region .

At the 2012 census, Dan Amaria had 1,053 inhabitants who lived in 114 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 696 in 86 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 1,322 in 187 households.

In 1924, the politician Boukary Sabo was born in Dan Amaria .
