Daniel Arthur Parks (born May 26, 1978 in Hornsby , Australia ) is a no longer active Scottish rugby union player. He last played as a connector for Connacht Rugby and played for the Scottish national team from 2004 to 2012 .

Career

Parks played for the New South Wales region of Australia as a youth until he moved to England in 2001 for the Leeds Tykes . He went back to Australia after a few months to play for the Eastern Suburbs RUFC . He moved to the Glasgow Warriors in 2003. He played his first game for Glasgow against the Celtic Warriors in September of that year.

Parks made his debut for Scotland as a substitute for the 2004 Six Nations against Wales . In his ninth international match against Japan , he made his first attempt . After a poor performance in the first game of the Scottish national team in the Six Nations 2012 against England on February 4, 2012, he surprisingly announced his immediate retirement from international rugby on February 7, 2012. He is eligible to play for Scotland due to his grandfather's Scottish origins.

Parks participated in the 2007 and 2011 World Championships . In 2007 he was used in all five Scottish games. At the end of the 2007/08 season he became the twelfth Scottish player to have scored more than 100 points for the national team.

On the 2010/11 season, Parks moved to Wales for the Cardiff Blues , where he played until 2012. In 2012 he moved to Connacht Rugby . In 2014, Parks ended his active career.
