Daniel "Dan" Westover (born March 10, 1974 in Madagascar ) is an American biathlete .

Dan Westover is a soldier and lives in Colchester . He started biathlon in 1992. He made his debut in the 1996 Biathlon World Cup in Antholz , where he finished 58th in an individual. The first international championship was the 1996 Biathlon World Championships in Ruhpolding , where Westover was 71st in the individual and 21st in the relay race with Curt Schreiner , Robert Rosser and Chad Salmela . Highlight of the career were the 1998 Winter Olympics from Nagano . In the competitions on the tracks of Nozawa Onsen Westover came to two inserts: in the sprint he was 49th, with Jay Hakkinen , Andrew Erickson and Rosser in the relay race 17. After the games he achieved his best result with 39th place in an individual in Hochfilzen in the world cup. After the season he did not get any further top-level assignments. After the turn of the millennium, he came to several missions in the military world ski championships . In 2001 Westover was 71st in the sprint in Jericho , and in 2002 in Kranjska Gora 56th in the 15-kilometer freestyle in cross-country skiing . At the North American level, he continued to take part in races and, for example, was 23rd in the overall ranking of the 2009/10 season of the Biathlon NorAm Cup .
