Dani Gal
Dani Gal (* 1975 in Jerusalem ) is an Israeli video artist who has lived and worked in Germany since studying in Frankfurt am Main .
Life
Gal began his studies in 1997 in Tel Aviv at the Avni Institute of Art and Design , attended the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem from 1998 to 2000 before going to the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main in the same year . There he studied with Ayşe Erkmen, among others . He completed his studies at the Cooper Union in Manhattan , New York City .
Gal lives and works in Berlin.

Exhibitions
- 2019: In the exhibition Weissenhof City - From the past and present of the future of a city to the Weißenhofsiedlung , shown in the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart , Dani Gal is represented with two works:
- In a fictional TV interview he had a British journalist ask Ludwig Mies van der Rohe how it could be "that he believed that the Bauhaus could have continued to exist under the National Socialist government".
- White City . A real conversation between the racial ideologist Hans FK Günther and the Zionist Arthur Ruppin is the subject of Gal's film, "in which the artist makes the points of contact in the thinking of Zionists and National Socialists understandable". What was said between Günther and Ruppin at this meeting, "Gal constructed from Ruppin's diary entries".
- 2018: The Record Archive . Dani Gal brings together “speeches by and interviews with leading personalities of the world, audio documents on peace agreements and the struggle for human rights, and radio broadcasts about events that have gone down in collective historical memory. The result: a mashup of world events in the 20th century. "
- 2014: AS FROM FAR , screening of the film made in 2013 followed by an artist talk in the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt on August 27, 2014.
