Daniel Josef Holbe (born April 7, 1976 in Friedberg ) is a German writer .

Live and act

Daniel Holbe comes from the Friedberg district of Ockstadt in Wetterau , just under 30 kilometers north of Frankfurt am Main . He has lived with his family in the Hohen Vogelsberg since 2018 . He attended the Sankt Lioba School in Bad Nauheim . After training as a refrigeration system builder and various other activities, he studied social work at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and worked in this field for several years.

According to his own statements, he was never lacking in imagination and he began writing as a teenager. A holiday in France finally motivated him to write a church historical novel, which was published by Rütten & Loening in 2009 . In the fall of 2011, Holbe took over the literary estate of Andreas Franz and completed his work Todesmelodie , which was published posthumously. He also took over the continuation of the crime series about Frankfurt Chief Inspector Julia Durant in eight further volumes.

Holbe is a member of the author's community Das Syndikat . On his website he also declares that he is a fan of Eintracht Frankfurt .

social commitment

During the run for more time in 2017 in aid of AIDS-Hilfe Frankfurt am Main eV, Holbe took part in the 5000-meter run as a donation runner . He reached a donation goal of 1000 €.

In the epilogue of his crime novel Kalter Schnitt , he formulates a donation promise for the women's rights organization Terre des Femmes .
