Daniel Paul Merriweather (* 17th February 1982 in Melbourne ) is an Australian R & B - singer .

Life

Merriweather grew up in the Dandenong Ranges of Melbourne . He attended Patch Primary School, Billanook College, Blackburn High School and Swinburne Senior Secondary College. His musical education began with violin lessons in the classes for children with lower incomes. After school, he continued to devote himself to music.

Merriweather's first commercially released recording was All I Want in 2002. In 2003, she made a guest appearance on Mark Ronson's album Here Comes The Fuzz (She's Got Me) . His debut solo single City Rules was released in early 2004, produced by Mark Ronson.

In 2007, Merriweather and Ronson recorded the song Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This Before (originally by The Smiths ). The single was released as a pre-release version of Ronson's solo album version and had great commercial success.

In June 2009 Daniel Merriweather released his album Love & War , he presented the first single Change on the BBC Radio 1 show by Chris Moyles in December 2008 with a live band. In February 2009 Change was already in the top ten of the UK charts.

His main musical influences include Daniel Merriweather Stevie Wonder , Prince , Jeff Buckley , Alan Hawkshaw and Herbie Hancock .
