Daniel Sieveke (born November 30, 1976 in Paderborn ) is a German CDU politician and a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament . He is one of six deputy chairmen of the CDU parliamentary group.

Life and work

Sieveke grew up with five siblings. After graduating from high school in 1997 at the Theodorianum High School in Paderborn , Daniel Sieveke first completed an apprenticeship as a banker at Sparkasse Paderborn in 1998 , which he successfully completed in 2001. This was followed by activities as a customer and private customer advisor (until 2007), deputy head of a Sparkasse branch (until 2009) and then, until his election to the Düsseldorf state parliament, as head of an branch of today's Sparkasse Paderborn-Detmold.

Sieveke completed advanced training courses to become a savings bank specialist (2003) and a savings bank business administrator (2007) at the Sparkassenakademie Westfalen-Lippe in Münster .

Sieveke is married and has two sons. In addition to some other club memberships, he is also a member of the KDSt.V. Guestfalo-Silesia zu Paderborn in the CV .

Political career

From 1999 to 2003 Daniel Sieveke was chairman of the city association of the Junge Union Paderborn as well as a delegate at the state and federal level of the Junge Union . From 2003 to 2007 he was chairman of the CDU local union in Paderborn. Since 2006 he has been chairman of the CDU city association in Paderborn. In this function he is the successor to Wolfgang Schmitz , who was also his predecessor in the state parliament until 2010. Since 2006 Sieveke has also been a member of the board of the CDU district association Paderborn.

He has been a delegate to the state party congress of the CDU North Rhine-Westphalia since 2007. Since 2009 Sieveke has also been a delegate to the federal party conference of the CDU in Germany . As a member of the state parliament he is also a member of the board of the CDU district association Ostwestfalen-Lippe .

Daniel Sieveke was a member of the Paderborn City Council from the 2004 local elections to August 28, 2017. Since 2009 he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. In addition, he was a full member of the main and finance committee of the Paderborn city council, the committee for building, planning and the environment, and the auditing committee.

As a member of the Paderborn City Council, he was also a member of the supervisory boards of Paderborner Kommunalbetriebe GmbH , Paderborner Stadthallen Betriebsgesellschaft mbH , Stadtwerke Paderborn GmbH and the Paderborn Business Development Corporation .

In the party-internal election of the CDU for the direct candidacy in the Bundestag constituency Paderborn before the Bundestag election in 2009, Sieveke was defeated by Carsten Linnemann in 2008 .

In November 2009, March 2012 and September 2016 he was nominated as a candidate for the state parliament for the constituency Paderborn II (101, Paderborn-Stadt) by the general assembly of the CDU city association Paderborn .

State politics

In the 2010 NRW state elections , Sieveke stood for the first time as a candidate for the CDU state parliament for the Paderborn-Stadt constituency and won the direct mandate with 45.33 percent of the first votes.

His predecessor as constituency representative was the long-time MdL Wolfgang Schmitz (CDU), who was not reassigned by the general assembly of the CDU city association Paderborn.

Sieveke was elected as one of the secretaries on June 9, 2010 in the constituent meeting of the 15th electoral period of the NRW state parliament. Sieveke has been a member of the young group of the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia since 2010 , where he was a deputy chairman from 2010 to 2012. He was also a member of the extended state board of the Young Union of North Rhine-Westphalia until he reached the age limit of 35.

From 2010 onwards was a full member of the Budget and Finance Committee and the Committee on Budgetary Control. Since 2017 he has been acting on behalf of these committee members. From 2010 to 2012 he was a member of the committee for local politics in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia. During the 15th electoral term of the Landtag, he was a deputy member of the Committee on Innovation, Science, Research and Technology, the Committee on Economy, SMEs and Energy, and the Committee on Petitions. In the 16th electoral term of the state parliament he was also a deputy member of the main committee, deputy member of the subcommittee for state operations and special assets of the budget and finance committee.

Sieveke was elected chairman of the interior committee in the 16th and 17th electoral periods of the state parliament. In the 17th electoral term, he is also a member of the legal committee, the control committee according to § 23 of the Constitutional Protection Act of North Rhine-Westphalia and a deputy member of the committee for economy, energy and regional planning. He has been spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group there since the establishment of the parliamentary committee of inquiry into the "Amri case" in the 16th electoral term. Sieveke is also a deputy member of the Committee on Home, Local Affairs, Building and Housing.

In institutions in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Sieveke is also a committee member of the hardship fund of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia to support victims of National Socialism for reasons of equity (member of the advisory board), the Institute for Lightweight Construction with Hybrid Systems at the University of Paderborn (advisory board member) and the Hövelhof prison (advisory board member) ). Sieveke is also a member of the NRW.Bank Advisory Board for Housing Promotion.

In the NRW state elections in 2012 Sieveke ran again as the CDU's state candidate for the constituency of Paderborn-Stadt and won the direct mandate with 41.23 percent of the first votes.

In the 2017 NRW state elections , Sieveke again stood as a state candidate for the CDU for the constituency of Paderborn-Stadt and won the direct mandate with 44.47 percent of the first votes. During the election campaign he was supported by the CDU internal politician Wolfgang Bosbach , among others .

In the discussion about the refugee situation in Germany and North Rhine-Westphalia, Sieveke demanded monthly figures on the subject of those obliged to leave the country at the beginning of 2016.

Sieveke sees the development of Salafism in North Rhine-Westphalia as a threat to integration policy.

In the debate about the further construction of wind turbines in North Rhine-Westphalia, Sieveke has spoken out in favor of a distance of 1,500 m from residential developments for new systems.
