Daniel Smethurst (born October 13, 1990 in Oldham ) is a former British tennis player from England .

Career

Daniel Smethurst played mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . So far he has celebrated 12 single and 19 double victories on the Future Tour. On the Challenger Tour, he has won the doubles tournament in Champaign in 2013 and two other tournaments in the 2014 season.

In 2014 he made his Grand Slam debut at Wimbledon with a wildcard , where he lost to John Isner in three sets. In doubles, where he also came into the main field thanks to a wildcard and played with Edward Corrie as a partner, he failed in the opening round to Johan Brunström and Frederik Nielsen . In 2016 he played his last professional tournament.
