Daniel Cox (born September 28, 1990 in Lincoln , England ) is a British tennis player .

Career

Daniel Cox mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . So far, he has celebrated 14 individual tournament wins on the Future Tour. On the Challenger Tour he has so far won the doubles competition when he won the title in Binghamton in July 2014 .

So far, he has not had any major successes on the ATP World Tour . He has been taking part in tournaments of the highest category since 2011, but has never made it through the first round. He played his first game on the World Tour in June 2011 at the AEGON Championships in London's Queen's Club . He received a wild card from the tournament management and faced his compatriot James Ward in the first round , to whom he was clearly defeated in two sets. A week later he received another wild card for the tournament in Eastbourne , where he failed in the first round to Donald Young . He played his first Grand Slam tournament in the same year at Wimbledon , but failed again in the first round against Serhij Stachowskyj . Just like in doubles, where he also received a wildcard, alongside James Ward . It was similar in 2014 at the Queen's Club with a first round defeat against Adrian Mannarino and a few weeks later with his second participation in Wimbledon , where he was defeated by Jérémy Chardy in four sets.
