Danielle Scott (born March 7, 1990 in Sydney ) is an Australian freestyle skier . She specializes in the aerials (jumping) discipline.

biography

Up to the age of 13, Scott initially practiced gymnastics . In 2006 she was persuaded by world champion Jacqui Cooper to switch to freestyle jumping even though she had never skied before. After she had occasionally taken part in competitions of the Nor-Am Cup and the European Cup from February 2009, she made her World Cup debut on January 15, 2012 at Mont Gabriel , where she immediately finished eighth. In the further course of the 2011/12 World Cup season , she achieved five more top 10 placements. From the FIS she received for the award " Rookie of the Year ".

In six of the seven World Cup competitions of the 2012/13 season , Scott was able to place himself in the top ten, with fourth place as the best result. She won the bronze medal at the 2013 World Championships in Voss . Her first podium in the World Cup came on January 18, 2014, when she jumped to second place in Lake Placid . She finished ninth at the 2014 Winter Olympics . After finishing fifth at the 2015 World Championships on Kreischberg , she won her first World Cup on February 21, 2015 in Moscow . She took third place in the Aerials discipline.

Scott achieved five results in the top five in the 2015/16 season , including a second place twice, which resulted in second place in the discipline ranking. In the 2016/17 World Cup winter she won in Beida Lake and came second three times, repeating second place in the discipline ranking. At the final World Championships in 2017 in the Sierra Nevada , she won the silver medal. At the beginning of the 2017/18 season , she won a World Cup competition for the third time.
