Danilo Catarzi

Danilo Catarzi SX (born February 11, 1918 in Lucciano di Quarrata , † November 23, 2004 ) was Bishop of Uvira .

Life

Danilo Catarzi joined the order of the Xaverian Missionaries and was ordained a priest on June 29, 1943 . Pope John XXIII appointed him on April 16, 1962 Bishop of Uvira .

The Archbishop of Bukavu , Louis Van Steene MAfr , ordained him episcopal on July 15 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Richard Cleire MAfr, Bishop of Kasongo , and Joseph Mikararanga Busimba , Bishop of Goma .

During the Second Vatican Council he took part in all sessions as a council father. He resigned from his office on March 26, 1981.
