After finishing school, Pursey worked as a sound engineer for the music producer Steve Mac . There he worked on pieces by Il Divo , Westlife , Kelly Clarkson and Leona Lewis and was able to gain his first teaching experience with professional artists. Two years later he founded the rock band Vanton , which gave their first concert on November 29, 2003 in London. In July 2004 the first tour of South West England followed . A year later, the band released the first album entitled Mission To Mars , which includes twelve songs. A music video was produced especially for the album track Freakin Out with Pursey.

The composition of the band has changed several times in the following years. From the founding times about 13 years ago, only Pursey as lead singer and guitarist and the group name remained unchanged. The band currently consists of three members.

In 2006 Pursey was accepted into the music project Globus by soundtrack composer and music producer Yoav Goren, who is best known as the founder of Immediate Music , a Californian music production company that specializes in music for cinema trailers , where he acts primarily as lead singer and guitarist. He made his first appearance with Globus on July 26, 2006 in a live performance in the Grand Hall of Wembley Arena in London. The concert was also offered on July 28, 2008 as a concert film under the title Globus: Live at Wembley on DVD.

Pursey's repertoire for Globus currently comprises five songs, with three songs released on the Epicon album . He is also the co-author of the last three songs. From the song Orchard of Mines , written and sung by Pursey, came a single release that became a hit single and spent nine weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart . A music video was also produced for the piece at Pinewood Studios in the UK. Pursey described Orchard of Mines as his most significant song to date. The song was covered in 2008 by the band Asia on the album Phoenix .

According to his own statement, he just stumbled upon Globus by accident. Pursey said in an interview with BBC Radio: “I was watching a trailer for Aviator and was blown away by the music. I then contacted the guy who wrote & produced the soundtrack, Yoav Goren, and asked if I could touch up the track and turn it into a song for my band. He must have been pretty happy with the results, because here I am! ”(“ I was watching a trailer for the film The Aviator and was blown away by the music. I contacted the guy who wrote & produced it, Yoav Goren, to find out if I could rework the track and turn it into a song for my band. He must have been pretty happy with the results because here I am! ").

Globus' second album was released in 2011 under the title Break From This World . In it, Pursey sings the song Wyatt Earth , which is accompanied by the same melody that underpins the trailer for the film The Aviator.
