Daniel Lewis "Danny" Collins (born August 6, 1980 in Chester ) is a Welsh football player who has been under contract with Grimsby Town since 2016 .
Player career
Chester City and Sunderland AFC
Danny Collins made his debut on December 26, 2001 for the English fifth division club Chester City, trained by Mark Wright . In the 2003/04 season he won the championship in the Football Conference with his team and rose to the Football League Two .
On October 12, 2004 Collins left the fourth division and moved to Sunderland AFC for a fee of £ 140,000 . With his new team, Collins (14 league games) won the 2004/05 Football League Championship . The return to the Premier League in 2005/06 was less successful for the club. Sunderland was relegated to the second division from bottom of the table. A season later , Danny Collins reached with his team again to win the second division championship and thus the direct return to the Premier League 2007/08 .
Stoke City
After establishing himself in the English top division with Sunderland, Collins joined Stoke City on September 1, 2009 for £ 2,750,000 . With Stoke, Danny Collins (25 league games) finished the Premier League 2009/10 in eleventh place in the table. In addition to another place in the middle of the table, City moved into the final of the FA Cup 2010/11 in the following season . The club lost the final game without Collins, who sat on the bench for 90 minutes, but with 0: 1 against Manchester City . He spent the 2011/12 season on loan with the second division clubs Ipswich Town and West Ham United .
Nottingham Forest
On July 25, 2012, Danny Collins signed a three-year contract with Nottingham Forest . After the contract he moved to Rotherham United .
Welsh national team
Danny Collins made his debut for the Welsh national team on February 9, 2005 in a 2-0 home win over Hungary. His last international match so far was on May 27, 2011 in a 2-0 win against Northern Ireland.
