Daouché (also: Daoutché ) is a rural community in the Kantché department in Niger .

geography

Daouché lies at the transition from the Sudan to the Sahel zone . The neighboring communities are Kantché in the northeast, Tsaouni in the southeast and Korgom in the west. The municipality is divided into 18 administrative villages, four traditional villages, 41 hamlets and six camps. The main town of the rural community is the administrative village of Daouché (also: Daoutché).

history

The rural community of Daouché emerged from part of the canton of Kantché in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform.

population

At the 2001 census, Daouché had 25,162 inhabitants. For 2010, 34,163 inhabitants were calculated. Members of the Fulbe sub-group Daourawa, which mainly practices agropastoralism , live in Daouché .

Economy and Infrastructure

The community is located in the narrow zone along the border with Nigeria , which extends from Tounouga in the west to Malawa in the east and is used in irrigation farming for cash crops .
