Dariusz Nowak (born April 23, 1978 in Włocławek , Poland ) is a former Polish rower .

Career

Nowak began rowing in 1992. At the age of 18, he gained his first experience on the international stage at the Junior World Championships in Glasgow. As a sculler he took part in the double foursome, but only finished 17th out of 22 registered teams.

After that, Nowak did not appear internationally for almost seven years. It was not until the 2003 season that he started for the first time in the rowing World Cup in the Polish eighth , for which he was quickly able to establish himself as a regular. This was followed by his first and only participation in the World Championships in the 2003 international championships in Milan, which finished the large Polish boat in 8th place. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Nowak also rowed in the Polish eighth with Bogdan Zalewski , Piotr Buchalski , Rafał Hejmej , Mikołaj Burda , Wojciech Gutorski , Sebastian Kosiorek , Michał Stawowski and helmsman Daniel Trojanowski . The team could not reach the final and finished 8th overall.

In the new Olympic cycle, Nowak lost his place in eighth relatively quickly. He was used twice at the World Cup in Eton and Munich, but then no longer considered for the World Championships in Japan. He then ended his active career in international rowing.

Nowak started for the AZS AWFiS Gdańsk association . With a height of 1.97 m, his competition weight was around 95 kg.
