biography

Darja Ovtschinnikowa was born in Krasnoyarsk and started skiing at the age of four.

At the age of 15 she competed in her first FIS races in Siberia . In January 2014, she made her European Cup debut in Spital am Pyhrn , but has so far not been able to rank among the points. In February of the same winter, she first took part in a Junior World Championship in Jasná . She crossed the finish line three times in five starts and finished in 38th place in the super combined as the best result. In two other JWM participations ( Hafjell 2015 , Sotschi 2016 ) she also competed in all five individual races. In Sochi, she classified herself in every race and achieved ninth place in the combination as a top result. At the end of the 2013/14 season, she won her first of three national championships in slalom. In 2016 she was successful in combined and giant slalom.

Her greatest successes to date reached Ovchinnikova in the Far East Cup , in which she won a slalom and a Super-G and finished the 2015/16 season in second place overall. She also won the gold medal in the super combined at the 2015 Winter Universiade in the Sierra Nevada . At her second Universiade in Almaty , she could no longer build on this performance.
