Darroll Powe (born June 22, 1985 in Kanata , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been with the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League since February 2013 .

Career

Powe began his career as a hockey player in 2003 with the Princeton Tigers , Princeton University's ice hockey team . For the Tigers, he played a total of four years in the ECAC Hockey , before the end of the 2006/07 season in the professional sector to the Philadelphia Phantoms , the AHL - farm team of the Philadelphia Flyers changed. There the center gained its first experience in professional ice hockey.

At the beginning of the 2008/09 NHL season , Powe was first appointed by the Flyers in the NHL squad and made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 6-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils .

On June 27, 2011, the Philadelphia Flyers gave him in exchange for a third-round vote in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft to the Minnesota Wild , where Powe signed a contract for three years on July 5, 2011. On February 4, 2013 Powe was given together with Nick Palmieri by the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Michael Rupp to the New York Rangers . After he played 34 times for the Rangers by the end of the 2012/13 season, he was unable to prevail in the NHL squad during preparation for the following season and was given to the AHL farm team Hartford Wolf Pack .
