Kanata is a large suburb in the western part of the Canadian capital Ottawa . Before Kanata became part of Ottawa in 2001, it was Canada's fastest growing city. In 2011 it had 101,760 inhabitants, with an annual growth of 3.3%.

history

The present-day area of ​​Kanata was originally part of the urban area of March and first settled by Europeans in the early 19th century . It was mostly concerned with agriculture until the 1960s when heavy industry became more widespread. Today's Kanata was shaped by Bill Teron , who is considered the father of Kanata .
