action

Slender Sammy Smith's greatest desire is to become a sports superstar. With the help of his West Indian friend Marvin and the bodybuilding course of the famous "Professor Hercules", Sammy is training for the long-distance running championship. Two school thugs, who are also Sammy's competitors in the championship, throw his lucky tiger t-shirt through a window of a research laboratory. While trying to get it back, Sammy bumps into an electrical structure. In the ensuing explosion, the t-shirt is transformed into a source of powerful power.

Research chief Mr. Trotter and his boss Mr. Becket decide to use this discovery for their own purposes, but Sammy and Marvin manage to escape wearing the t-shirt. The t-shirt enables Sammy to jump over a high factory wall, stop the chasers' car with one hand and run down the street like a rocket.

After narrowly escaping a few times, Sammy makes it to the sports field. But the two school rackets let him stumble at the start of the race. With the help of the super t-shirt, he manages to put himself at the top. Marvin is just coming to the sports field when Sammy sways and ultimately stops because the T-shirt loses its strength. Marvin rips off his shirt and convinces Sammy to run on his own. Sammy catches up with the other runners and ultimately wins the race.

criticism

The lexicon of international films rated the work as a "children's film that satirically opposes the dream of a comic wonderland and offers constructive alternatives."

music

The theme song Sammy's Super T-Shirt was written by Harry Robinson and Frank Godwin. Robinson also wrote the original story on which the script is based, so he was named as H. MacLeod Robertson in the credits.
