The meeting in Valladolid
The meeting in Valladolid is the title of one on behalf of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU, dt. European Broadcasting Union ) by the English writer Anthony Burgess , author of the future novel A Clockwork Orange (dt. A Clockwork Orange ), written radio play . The radio play is about a fictional meeting of an English actor and a Spanish poet at the grave of the English author William Shakespeare . According to the Julian calendar, he died on the same day as the Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes , on April 23, 1616. The occasion is the peace negotiations taking place in Valladolid between the former warring parties Spain and the Kingdom of England with the aim of an eternal European peace .

For the German-speaking area, Hans Gerd Krogmann staged the radio play for Deutschlandfunk in cooperation with the working group of the public broadcasters of the Federal Republic of Germany (ARD), the Austrian broadcasting company (ORF) and the Swiss radio and television company (SRG) with a running time of 72'40 minutes.
