Josef Meinertzhagen
Josef Meinertzhagen (born August 31, 1916 in Cologne ; † May 7, 2002 ) was a German actor , director and radio play speaker .
Life
After finishing secondary school, Josef Meinertzhagen received an acting training at the Immermann School in Düsseldorf . A first engagement followed in Cologne in 1939 . From 1940 he completed military service and was then taken prisoner of war. As early as 1945 he was committed to the municipal theaters in Essen . There he played, among other things, the court jester in William Shakespeare's What you want and the soldier lamb in the world premiere of Egon Vietta's play Monte Cassino . This was followed by positions at the Hildesheim City Theater (1955 to 1959) and at the Baden-Baden Theater (1959 to 1964). He then switched to the Cologne Theater , where he was a member of the ensemble until 1984 . Here he was mainly used in batches and, under the acting director Hansgünther Heyme , advanced to a very frequently cast actor.
In addition, from 1978 to 1994 Josef Meinertzhagen was responsible for the staging of the so-called divertissement at the Cologne Opera for the stage play group Cäcilia Wolkenburg of the Cologne Men's Singing Association , which is performed every year during the carnival season .
He also worked in film and television productions . Among them was the feature film The Last Pedestrian by Wilhelm Thiele with Heinz Erhardt , Christine Kaufmann and Käthe Haack . He also appeared in two episodes of the children's series Lemmi and the Schmöker and was heard as a speaker in Janosch's dream lesson . In the comedy show Dr. From 1975 to 1978 Muffels Telebrause belonged to the ensemble around Hans Timerding , Andreas Mannkopff , Elisabeth Volkmann and Alexander Welbat .
Josef Meinertzhagen was also a very busy radio speaker who was already working for the Reich broadcaster in Cologne . Later he mainly worked in radio play productions for West German Broadcasting Corporation .
