Datsakorn Thonglao ( Thai : ดัสกร ทอง เหลา , born December 30, 1983 in Nongbua Lamphu Province ) is a Thai football player. He prefers to play in midfield and usually acts as a playmaker . He has been under contract with Chonburi FC in the Thai League since mid-2019 .
Career
society
Datsakorn began his active career at FC Raj Pracha . In 2001 he moved to BEC Tero Sasana and became champions of the Thai Premier League with the club . It was his first big title. In addition to winning the championship, he was twice runner-up with BEC Tero. In 2003 he reached the final of the AFC Champions League with the team. He was in the starting line-up in both games of the final. In the end they were defeated by the Al Ain Club after two legs . Datsakorn moved to Vietnam in 2007 for the then record sum of $ 80,000 . He signed a 3-year contract with Hoàng Anh Gia Lai . He has not yet won a title with his new club. Since autumn 2009, speculation about a possible move back to Thailand grew. However, Datsakorn had meanwhile signed a new contract with his club Hoàng Anh Gia Lai and was contractually bound for two more years. Muang Thong United tried to bring the playmaker back to Thailand early on. In January 2010 the change was made. Datsakorn made it clear to his employer that he wanted to go back to Thailand. This appealed to 200,000 US dollars on. Exactly the amount that Datsakorn had previously received as hand money for his renewed contract signature. It is not known whether his new club actually paid the sum. But he is definitely the most expensive player in the Southeast Asian region.
By winning the championship of Muang Thong United in 2009, the club was eligible to qualify for the 2010 AFC Champions League . For both games in the qualification, however, Datsakorn was not eligible to play. The registration period ended on January 30, 2009.
National team
The current captain began his career in the national team in 2001. In the first year of his appointment to the U-23 national team, he won the 2001 gold medal at the Southeast Asian Games . Two years later he was able to repeat the success with the team. In his previous participations in the ASEAN soccer championships in 2007 and 2008 it was only enough for second place. Datsakorn took part in the finals of the Asian Football Championship in both 2004 and 2007 . However, he could not score a goal.
