The Daunert is a 334 meter high mountain in the Spessart in the Bavarian district of Aschaffenburg . At the foot of the mountain are the Mömbris districts of Brücken and Strötzbach .
geography
The Daunert is bounded in the northwest by the valley of the Hemsbach , in the southeast by the Fleutersbach and in the east by the Kahl . At Kleinhemsbach it goes flat to the ridge of the Hahnenkamm . The border between the districts of Mömbris and Hemsbach runs across the south-western part of the Daunert mountain. In the area of the summit there is a wooded area with the field name Daunert . The forest in the northeast of the mountain is called Bornrain . A rocky mountain spur in the southeast stretches to the Strötzbacher mill .
The Daunertweg in Brücken is named after the mountain . In August 2016, a 50 m high transmission mast was erected on the Daunert, which replaced the mobile radio transmission system on the former fire station in Niedersteinbach . On July 18, 2016, the first part of the mast was set into the foundation .
history
The border between the districts of Hemsbach and Mömbris did not always run over the summit ridge. There are a number of well-preserved, old boundary stones from 1810. They separated the historical areas of two earlier states in the Rhine Confederation . On one side was the territory of the Grand Duchy of Hesse , to which the town of Hemsbach in the Alzenau district in the Starkenburg province belonged. On the other side was the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt with the parish Mömbris in the department of Aschaffenburg . All of these boundary stones are numbered; in the Daunert area from 166 to 184.
