Dave Henderson (born March 13, 1952 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a former French - Canadian ice hockey player and current coach . His son Brian Henderson is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Dave Henderson began his career as a hockey player in France with HC Amiens Somme , for whose professional team he was active between 1975 and 1994 in the highest and second highest French league . He then ran for two years for the club's second team in the third-class Division 2 . Already during his playing days he worked as a player-coach for Amiens. From 1996 to 1999 he took over the position of head coach of the professional team with which he won the French championship title in 1999.

From 1999 to 2004 he worked as head coach for the U20 youth national team of France. Since then he has been the head coach of the men's national team with Pierre Pousse , with whom he was promoted to the top division in 2007.

International

For France , Henderson took part in the 1981 World Cup.
