Pierre Pousse (born February 27, 1966 in Strasbourg ) is a former French ice hockey player and current coach . His younger brother Bertrand Pousse was also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Pierre Pousse began his career as a hockey player at the Sporting Hockey Club Saint Gervais , for whose professional team he made his debut in the French top division in the 1983/84 season . He spent the following season at the Chamonix Hockey Club and was himself awarded the trophy Jean-Pierre Graff as the best young French player. For the 1985/86 season he returned to the Sporting Hockey Club Saint Gervais, with whom he won the French championship . The club was then merged and the attacker was again French champions in 1987 and 1988 with the successor club Mont-Blanc HC and in 1988 also received the Albert Hassler trophy as the best French player in the top French division. For the 1989/90 season he joined the HC Amiens Somme before running for the Diables Rouges de Briançon from 1990 to 1992 . From 1992 to 2000 he was again on the ice for HC Amiens-Somme and was also champion with the team in 1999. Previously, in 1993 he was again awarded the Albert Hassler Trophy as a player for Amiens. In the 2000/01 season he ran for the Club des Sports de Megève in the second class Division 1 and most recently from 2001 to 2004 subclass for his ex-club from Chamonix, where he gained his first experience as a player-coach in the 2002/03 season . He then ended his active career at the age of 38.
In the 2003/04 season, he was responsible for the U22 juniors as the head coach of the Chamonix Hockey Club's professional team. Since 2004 he has been head coach of the French national team together with Franco-Canadian Dave Henderson .
International
For France , Pousse took part in the B World Championships in 1989 and 1990 and the A World Championships in 1992 , 1993 , 1994 , 1995 and 1996 . He was also in his country's squad at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary , 1992 in Albertville and 1994 in Lillehammer .
