David Michael Krieg (born October 20, 1958 in Iola , Wisconsin , USA ) is a former American football player on the position of quarterback . He studied at Milton College and entered the National Football League (NFL) in 1980 as an undrafted player . In 19 years he played for six different teams. He's one of the best passers in history.

college

In Milton, a small private college in Wisconsin, he began his football career as the 7th quarterback on the Depth Chart. When he finally got the chance to play in his fourth game in his first year, he brought four passes to the man - three of them were touchdowns . From then on, he was a regular for the remainder of his college career.

Professional career

Krieg is one of the best passers in NFL history - he's in the top 15 in most pass categories. In 19 years, Krieg played 213 games, completing 58.5% of his passes for a total of 38,147 yards and 261 touchdowns. He also ran 1,261 yards and 13 touchdowns in 417 attempts. In twelve play-off games, he achieved a rate of 51.1% successful passes at 1,895 yards and eleven touchdowns.

War was signed by the Seahawks in 1980 as an undrafted player. In the middle of the 1983 season he replaced the quarterback Jim Zorn as starting quarterback . War could lead the Seahawks to nine wins, which the Seahawks participated in the play-offs for the first time. The 1984 season was war statistically best, as he threw 32 touchdowns in that 3,671 yards. In the 1988 season, he injured his shoulder early. During his absence, the Seahawks were unable to play successfully. After he returned, he led the Seahawks to their first AFC West title. After the Seahawks did not reach the play-offs in the 1990 season, they released him as a free agent . He was then committed by the Kansas City Chiefs . After the Chiefs, he played with four other teams.
