Iola is located in northeastern central Wisconsin, around 85 km northwest of Lake Winnebago and around 100 km west of Green Bay of Lake Michigan . The place is on the south bank of Iola Lake , which is traversed by the southern headwaters of the Little Wolf River . The river is part of the Green Bay catchment area of Lake Michigan via the Wolf River and the Fox River .
