Waupaca is a small town (with the status " City ") and the administrative center of the Waupaca County in the US -amerikanischen State Wisconsin . In 2010 Waupaca had 6,069 inhabitants.

Waupaca is located in northeastern Wisconsin, around 65 km northwest of Lake Winnebago and around 90 km southwest of Green Bay of Lake Michigan . The city lies on both sides of the Waupaca River , which belongs to the catchment area of Lake Michigan via the Wolf River and the Fox River .
The geographical coordinates of Waupaca are 44 ° 21'29 "north latitude and 89 ° 05'09" west longitude. The urban area extends over an area of 21 km² and is surrounded on several sides by the Town of Waupaca without belonging to it.
Neighboring towns of Waupaca are Ogdensburg (14 km north-northeast), Manawa (22 km northeast), Weyauwega (14.5 km east-southeast), Chain O 'Lakes (7.7 km southwest), Sheridan (11 km northwest) and Scandinavia (14 km north-northwest).

The four-lane US Highway 10 runs along the southern outskirts of Waupaca. Furthermore, Wisconsin State Highways 22 , 49 and 54 meet in the urban area of Waupaca . All other roads are subordinate country roads, some unpaved roads and inner-city connecting roads.
A Canadian National Railway (CN) line runs through Waupaca for freight traffic .
With the Waupaca Municipal Airport is located in the southeast of the urban area, a small airfield. history
The name of the city goes back to a chief of the Potawatomi who lived here before the arrival of the whites .
In 1849 the first whites settled on the site of today's city. In 1852 the first post office was built.
Five years later the settlement was incorporated as the Village of Waupaca . The change of the parish status to the City of Waupaca took place in 1875.

According to the 2010 census , Waupaca had 6,069 people in 2,702 households. The population density was 289 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.1 people lived in each of the 2702 households.
The racial the population was composed of 96.6 percent white, 0.9 percent African American, 0.7 percent Native American, 0.3 percent Asian and 0.5 percent from other ethnic groups; 1.0 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 2.3 percent of the population.
22.1 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 57.8 percent were between 18 and 64 and 20.1 percent were 65 years or older. 52.5 percent of the population were female.
