Weyauwega is a small town (with the status " City ") in Waupaca County in the US -amerikanischen State Wisconsin . In 2010 Weyauwega had 1900 inhabitants.

Weyauwega is located in northeastern Wisconsin, around 50 km northwest of Lake Winnebago and around 80 km southwest of Green Bay on Lake Michigan . The city lies on both sides of the Waupaca River , which belongs to the catchment area of Lake Michigan via the Wolf River and the Fox River .
The geographical coordinates of Weyauwega are 44 ° 19'17 "north latitude and 88 ° 56'01" west longitude. The urban area extends over an area of 4.43 km² and is surrounded in the west, south and east by the Town of Weyauwega without belonging to it. In the north, the Town of Royalton borders the urban area.

The four-lane US Highway 10 and the congruent Wisconsin State Highway 49 form the southwest bypass of Weyauwega. Wisconsin State Highway 110 , running north-south through downtown, forms the main street of Weyauwega. All other roads are subordinate country roads, some unpaved roads and inner-city connecting roads.
A Canadian National Railway (CN) line runs through Weyauwega for freight traffic .
The Waupaca Municipal Airport is a small airfield 12 km to the west. The nearest commercial airports are Austin Straubel International Airport at Green Bay (73.3 km east-northeast), Outagamie County Regional Airport at Appleton (43 km east) and Central Wisconsin Airport at Wausau (92 km northwest).
history
In 1948 the first whites settled on the site of today's town. A post office was opened in 1850 and the incorporation as Village of Weyauwega took place in 1856. The railroad reached the settlement in 1872. In 1939 the place was raised to the City of Weyauwega .
In 1996 a serious railway accident occurred in Weyauwega . Several cars with propane caught fire and could only be extinguished after 16 days.

According to the 2010 census , Weyauwega had 1900 people in 746 households. The population density was 428.9 people per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.43 people lived in each of the 746 households.
The racial the population was composed of 96.4 percent white, 0.3 percent African American, 0.2 percent Native American, 0.2 percent Asian, 0.1 percent (one person) Polynesians and 1.6 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 1.3 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 6.1 percent of the population.
25.3 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 57.4 percent were between 18 and 64 and 17.3 percent were 65 years or older. 50.3 percent of the population were female.
