The county is located in eastern central Wisconsin and has an area of ​​1982 square kilometers, of which 37 square kilometers are water.

history

Waupaca County was formed in 1851 from parts of Brown County and Winnebago County. It was named after an expression of the Menominee "wau-pa-ka-ho-nak", which means something like white sandy soil or good young hero .
