The county is located in southeastern Wisconsin in the eastern suburbs of the city of Milwaukee and is about 30 km to the east from Lake Michigan . It has an area of ​​1503 square kilometers, of which 65 square kilometers are water.

history

Waukesha County was formed in 1846 from parts of Milwaukee County. Like the district capital, it was named after the Indian expression for little fox .

Historical objects

In Menomonee Falls , Roosevelt Drive is home to the historic Third Street Bridge (also known as the Roosevelt Drive Bridge ). Built in 1899, the bridge was listed on September 21, 1988 by the National Register of Historic Places as a Historic Monument with the number 88001647.
