The Buffalo County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Wisconsin . In 2010 , the county had 138,587 residents and a population density of 78.2 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Alma , which is named after the Ukrainian river Alma .

Buffalo County was formed in 1853 from parts of Trempealeau County. It was named after the Buffalo River .
