The Lincoln County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Wisconsin . In 2010 , the county had 28,743 residents and a population density of 12.6 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Merrill , which was named after the railroad pioneer S. S. Merrill .

The county is located in north-central Wisconsin and has an area of 2349 square kilometers, of which 62 square kilometers are water.
The Wisconsin River , a left tributary of the Mississippi , flows through the county from north to south.

Lincoln County was formed in 1874 from parts of Marathon County. It was named after Abraham Lincoln , the 16th President of the USA.
