The county is located in southeast Wisconsin and is about 30 km to the east from Lake Michigan . It has an area of ​​1129 square kilometers, of which 13 square kilometers are water.

history

George Washington

Washington County was formed from parts of the Wisconsin Territory in 1836 . It was named after George Washington , the first President of the United States.
