history
After the land around the present location was bought by the US government by treaties in 1831 by the Menominee and in 1833 by the Potawatomi , the first white settlement took place in 1841. In 1846, the Town of Richfield was founded, which was transformed into today's Village of Richfield after a vote in 2008 .
