The county is located in the extreme southeast of Wisconsin between the cities of Chicago and Milwaukee . It is bordered by Lake Michigan to the east and Illinois to the south . history
Kenosha County was formed in 1850 from parts of Racine County. It was named, like the district capital, after an Indian expression.

According to the 2010 census , Kenosha County had 166,426 people in 62,301 households. The population density was 235.4 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.6 people lived in each of the 62,301 households.
The racial the population was composed of 88.1 percent white, 7.1 percent African American, 0.7 percent Native American, 1.6 percent Asian, 0.1 percent Polynesian and other ethnic groups; 2.4 percent were descended from two or more races.
