The Central Wisconsin Airport ( IATA : CWA , ICAO : KCWA ) is an airport in Marathon County in the northern center of the US state of Wisconsin . The continuously open airport is located in the southeastern urban area of Mosinee and connects the region of central Wisconsin to the air traffic of the country via feeder flights to major airports.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) classifies the airport, which is part of the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems, as a non hub primary commercial service airport based on the number of 154,312 departing passengers .

location

The airport is located on Wisconsin State Highway 153 and Interstate 39 , which connects to the cities of Wausau (28 km north) and Wisconsin's capital Madison (223 km south).

The airport has two runways, each with a concrete surface.

There is a passenger terminal with 5 passenger boarding bridges and a baggage handling system . Several rental car companies have bases in the reception building.
