The Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport ( IATA : GRB , ICAO : KGRB ) is the airport of Green Bay in the east of the US -amerikanischen state of Wisconsin . The airport, which is always open and owned by Brown County, is the main air traffic hub in the metropolitan area around the city of Green Bay.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) classifies the airport, which is part of the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems, as a small hub primary commercial service airport based on the number of 410,348 departing passengers .
location
The airport is located in the municipal areas of the Ashwaubenon and Hobart suburbs , right on the southwestern city limits of Green Bay. The entire airport site is located on the territory of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin , an Indian reservation of Oneida .
The airport is connected to the city center of Green Bay, 12.5 km northeast, via Airport Drive.
Furnishing
The airport has two runways, each with a concrete surface. There is a passenger terminal with two passenger areas, which were built in their current form in 2004 and 2005. Each passenger area has six gates with passenger boarding bridges . There is a baggage handling system with two output points in the main building, where several rental car companies have their bases.
Airplanes and aircraft movements
A total of 120 aircraft are stationed at the airport . Of these, 67 are single-engine and 16 multi-engine propeller planes, 25 are jet jets and one helicopter. An ultralight aircraft is also stationed next to it.
Of the 175 flight movements per day, 5 percent can be assigned to scheduled and charter traffic , 69 percent to general aviation and 22 percent to air taxi traffic. There are also around 4 percent military aircraft movements.
