After the Buffalo Sabers had already selected him in second position in the NHL Supplemental Draft in 1987 , he moved to the NHL with the Sabers for the 1989/90 season . There he immediately established himself in the regular squad and played all 80 of the regular season in his first two seasons. In the course of the 1991/92 season he was released for Wayne Presley to the newly formed San Jose Sharks . In San Jose, however, the American could no longer build on the strong performances from his first two NHL seasons and was released after only nine months in December 1992 to the Philadelphia Flyers .
