David Čermák (born October 23, 1970 in Kladno , Czechoslovakia ) is a former German - Czech ice hockey player who played as a striker for the Dresdner Eislöwen until 2008 .

Career

David Čermák began his career in his hometown with HC Kladno , for whom he was on the ice for the first time in the first division of Czechoslovakia in 1989/90 . He played for his hometown club until 1997, from 1993 in the newly founded Czech Extraliga , before moving to the then third division club EV Regensburg . In the first year he won the championship of the 2nd ice hockey league with Regensburg in 1997/98 . In the 2000/01 season , the EV team was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga , which Čermák had a large share with 26 goals and 49 assists . Čermák played for Regensburg until 2002 before moving to the 2nd Bundesliga for ETC Crimmitschau for the 2002/03 season. After several positions in the upper league, he returned to the Eisbären Regensburg after the bankruptcy of the Bayreuth Tigers .

After two years in the 2nd Bundesliga for Regensburg, he finally moved to the Eislöwen in Dresden in spring 2007. With the Eislöwen he made it to the 2nd Bundesliga. In November 2008 he tore a cruciate ligament and missed the rest of the 2008-09 season. Before the following season he got a trial contract with the Eislöwen, but had to end his career in August 2009 due to the injury.
