Life

David Antonín Nývlt came from a subject family from Rtyně ( Hertin ) in the Nachod rule. After the death of Duke Lorenzo Piccolomini in 1713 he was employed as a clerk at the stately Náchod Castle by his widow Anna Viktoria Ludmila Kolowrat -Liebsteinsky, who was the guardian of the eldest son Giovanni Venceslao Piccolomini , who was ill . During the reign of Duke Octavio , who was appointed administrator until 1742, Nývlt was promoted to rentmaster in the 1730s . In 1761 he was promoted to administrator by Duke Giovanni Pompeo Piccolomini . In all of his functions he also had to deal with historical documents and other documents from the castle archives.

In 1736 he published the results of his archival and local research on the pilgrimage site of Klein Schwadowitz and the health effects of its healing springs. In the fourth and fifth chapters he describes the history of the Nachod rule until 1731, at the same time the Prince Piccolomini, who have ruled since 1634, are glorified. The font appeared in both German and Czech.

  • The German version, printed in a publishing house in Glatzer in 1736, is entitled: "Heilsamer Fountain of the Marianic devotion on the dependent brooks of the Nachod rule, namely to Schwadowitz". It was also mentioned in 1798 in Volume 5 of the "Collection of Physical Essays, especially regarding Bohemian Natural History".
  • The Czech version was published in Prague under the title: "Prospěšný Potok vod na nejvyšších pahrbcích Panství Jeho milosti knížecího náchodského vprostřed polí svatoňovských, všem potřebným a chudým hledajícím vod Marianske pomoci hojně prýštící, v prospěšnosti jednoho každého zde vyhledávajícího".
  • In 1733/37 Nývlt wrote the " Landscapes of the Prince Piccolominian Lordship of Nachodt". It contains the land register entries as well as the registers of the subjects and their robot obligations and duties.
  • It is believed that he was also the author of the lost manuscript on the "Antiquities and Traditions of the Nachod Reign".

Although great damage was done to the town and manor of Nachod during the Seven Years' War , Nývlt managed to protect the chateau archive from war damage. In 1768 he participated with a substantial donation in the renovation of the church of John the Baptist in Rtyně ( Hertin ).
