Giovanni Pompeo Prince Piccolomini (Czech Jan Pompejus, kniže Piccolomini ; born November 21, 1694 , † 1765 in Náchod ) was Duke of Amalfi and Count of Celano and landlord of the Eastern Bohemian rule Nachod .

Life

Giovanni Pompeo came from the Italian noble family of the Piccolomini- Todeschini. His parents were Giuseppe Piccolomini († 1733) and Anna, daughter of Pompeo Colonna . After the death of Duke Octavio Piccolomini (II.) In 1757, with whom the Piccolomini-Pieri branch of the male line died out, Giovanni Pompeo inherited his title and the Náchod reign, which was a family entourage. On August 23, 1757, the castle officials and representatives of the city of Náchod paid homage to him at Náchod Castle and promised him obedience, loyalty and submission. His reign was overshadowed by the effects of the Seven Years' War , which wreaked havoc on the town and rule of Náchod.

Giovanni Pompeo married Margherita Caterina ( Marketa Kateřina ), née Caracciolo (1723-1802) , in 1747 . Originated from marriage

  1. Anna Maria Piccolomini d'Aragona (1748–1812), who married Ettore Pignatelli Tagliavia d'Aragona Cortés (1742–1800), Duke of Monteleone in 1767 , and
  2. Giuseppe Parille Piccolomini ( Josef Parille Piccolomini , 1751–1783), who inherited his father in 1765 after his father's death. Since he was not yet of legal age, he was under the tutelage of his mother until August 5, 1771.
