Rtyně v Podkrkonoší [ ˈrtɪɲɛ fˈpɔtkr̩kɔnɔʃiː ] (German Hertin ) is a city in the Czech Republic . It is located eleven kilometers northwest of Náchod and belongs to the Okres Trutnov .

geography

The town on the river Rtynka is located in the Hertiner furrow ( Rtyňská brázda ) in the foothills of the Giant Mountains. State road 14 between Trutnov and Náchod leads through Rtyně , from which state road 567 branches off to Hronov . The chain of fortifications of the Czechoslovak Wall runs along the ridge northeast of the city .

Neighboring towns are Malé Svatoňovice in the north, Bohdašín nad Olešnicí in the east, Lhota za Červeným Kostelcem and Červený Kostelec in the southeast, Havlovice in the southwest, Úpice in the west and Batňovice in the northwest.

history

The first documented tradition of Hirtina comes from the year 1367.

After patrimonial was replaced, the place belonged to the judicial district of Eipel from the middle of the 19th century . The seat of the political district was Náchod. Since 1931 the place has been officially called Rtyně v Podkrkonoší . In 1978 Rtyně was raised to the rank of town and has had a coat of arms since 1996.

Bell tower and church
  • The town's landmarks are the wooden bell tower built in 1544 and the adjacent church of John the Baptist. It was built as a wooden structure at the beginning of the 14th century and was given its present form in 1679.

  • Town museum with permanent exhibition about the peasant uprising of 1775 and Antonín Nývlt Rychetský .
