Zlatá Olešnice (German Goldenöls ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers northeast of Trutnov in the east of the Rehorn Mountains and belongs to the Okres Trutnov .

geography

The place extends in the valley of the Zlatá Olešnice ( Goldenölsner Bach ), a small tributary to the Ličná ( Litsche ). The main street of Zlatá Olešnice is state road 16, which leads from Trutnov to Lubawka in Poland . The railway line from Trutnov to Královec runs west in the Ličná Valley . South of Zlatá Olešnice there is a triple bunker line of the Czechoslovak Wall , which crosses the Ličná Valley and on the opposite side of the valley is the Stachelberg Fortress. In the east lies the state border with Poland .

Neighboring towns are Křenov, Malý Křenov, Lampertice and Bernartice in the north, Rybníček in the northeast, Okrzeszyn in the east, Petříkovice and the abandoned place Debrné in the southeast, Nové Voletiny in the south, Libeč in the southwest, Babí in the west and Prkenný Důřl and Žaclé in the north-west.

history

Zlatá Olešnice was first mentioned in 1297. Gold washes were carried out along the village stream in the Middle Ages. From the middle of the 19th century, Goldenöls formed a community in the judicial district of Trautenau or in the district of Trautenau . Goldenöls had 659 inhabitants in 1900 and 589 in 1939.

After the Munich Agreement , the place was added to the German Empire and belonged to the Trautenau district until 1945 .

After the Second World War, the German residents were expelled.
