Chvaleč (German Qualisch ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eleven kilometers northeast of Trutnov on the border with Poland and belongs to the Okres Trutnov .

geography

Chvaleč is located in the north of the Habicht Mountains at the foot of the Závora ( Qualischer Riegel ) in the valley of the Chvalečský brook . To the east rises the Krupná hora (705 m), in the southeast the Přední Hradiště (710 m) and in the northwest of the Węglarz (567 m). There is a border crossing for small border traffic between Petříkovice and Okrzeszyn . To the southwest is the disused Celestin coal mine.

Neighboring towns are Okrzeszyn and Uniemyśl in the north, Horní Adršpach in the northeast, Hodkovice in the east, Janovice in the southeast, Radvanice , Studénka and Slavětín in the south, Lhota and Bezděkov in the southwest and Petříkovice in the west.

history

The first documented mention of Qualisdorph comes from the year 1329. From the middle of the 19th century Qualisch formed a community in the judicial district of Trautenau .

Between 1850 and 1870 Slatin / Slavětín was part of Qualisch. Then the village broke up and formed its own community.

The municipality Chvaleč consists of the districts Chvaleč ( Qualisch ) and Petříkovice ( Petersdorf ).
