Strážné (German Pommerndorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers north of Vrchlabí and belongs to the Okres Trutnov .
geography
The scattered settlement extends in the Giant Mountains from the valley of the Klinový potok ( Keilbach ) to the saddle between the Strážná hůra ( Wachur , 824 m) and the Herlíkovický Žalý ( Hackelsdorfer Heidelberg , 958 m). To the west is the Elbe valley and beyond it the Žalý ( Heidelberg , 1036 m).
Neighboring towns are Dolní Dvůr and Vápenice in the southeast, Hořejší Vrchlabí in the south, Podžalí in the southwest and Herlíkovice and Přední Labská in the northwest.
history
The first documentary mention of Pommerdörfl comes from the year 1754. Mining has been practiced here since the second half of the 17th century and a mining settlement with hammers and a stamping mill on the Keilbach was built above the old Silesian Steige. The name of the village does not derive, as a legend claims, from a local founder from Pomerania , but from the mining activities when the ore was pumped here. From 1850 the community was part of the Hohenelbe judicial district in the Hohenelbe district .
Today the place, to which a large number of Bauden belong, is a place of relaxation that is frequented by skiers especially in winter and has several ski lifts.
